Since the early 1900s, the City of Grand Junction has conducted an annual clean-up program to help residents get rid of yard waste and unusable household items. It is among the most popular residential programs. This two-week program takes place each year in the spring.
2022 Program Overview
In 9 days, City crews picked up 2,187 tons of material and hauled it to transfer facilities where 496,400 cubic yard containers totaling 18,760 cubic yards (a 4.2% increase from the 2021 program) was then hauled to the landfill. That volume would fill Stocker Stadium's football field to a depth of approximately 11 feet!
New this year, the City also served the Clifton area between 31 Road and 32 Road between E 1/2 Road and D Road. The area generated another 2,260 cubic yards of material that Mesa County then took to the landfill.
The 2022 program ended on April 15, 2022. Information on the 2023 program will be published on this webpage.
