Persigo Wastewater Treatment

Mission Statement

To provide the finest wastewater treatment possible, in a fiscally responsible manner that will protect the public health and environment.

What to Flush: The Three Ps

Pee, Poo, and toilet Paper are the only things that can be flushed safely. Check out our video on what not to flush!

What Not to Flush

  • Paper towels
  • Cleaning wipes
  • Facial wipes
  • Diapers
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Dental floss
  • Grease and food scraps
  • Medications
  • Flushable wipes*

*Despite their name, flushable wipes should not be flushed as they do not break down quickly in water. This can cause serious issues in the City sewer lines as well as your property plumbing.


Persigo Service Area

The City of Grand Junction Persigo Wastewater Plant services properties within the 201 sewer district boundary. To check to see if your property is within the Persigo service area, please visit our GIS map and type in your address.


Property Pipes and City Pipes

While the City is responsible for maintaining all main sewer lines, we cannot service property plumbing as it is considered under the ownership of the property owner. If you are having issues with your plumbing, please contact the services of a plumber.
