Officers from the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash in the area of Canyon View Park on 4/6/2024 shortly after 11 p.m. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, one passenger was declared deceased on scene. Another passenger was transported to St Mary’s Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Currently, speed is believed to be a factor in this crash leading to the vehicle hitting a tree. This incident is under active investigation and no further information is available at this time. The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the community.
