On 09/02/24, at approximately 10:05 a.m., officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a male who claimed he was assaulted and carjacked. A reporting party found an adult Hispanic male in the parking lot of the Family Dollar located in the area of 30 Road and Patterson Road with suspected blood on his face and clothes, claiming to have been carjacked and assaulted in the desert by a person known to him, and dropped off at the Family Dollar. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The Grand Junction Police Department believes this to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public. This case is in the early stages of investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
