Officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian crash in the area of D ½ Road and San Juan Street on 10/02/24 at approximately 11:00 p.m. A vehicle was traveling eastbound on D ½ Road when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was declared deceased on scene. Officers do not suspect alcohol or speed as factors in this crash. The Mesa County Coroner’s Office will be responsible for releasing the name of the deceased after appropriate notifications have been made. The roadway remained closed for several hours and has since been reopened. The investigation of this crash remains ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
