On August 8, 2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., deputies with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office attempted to apprehend a wanted subject in the 2900 block of Parkway Drive. The suspect fled the area, and officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to assist.
The suspect was later located in the backyard of a residence in the 2200 block of Orchard Avenue, where he barricaded himself inside a camper. The Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office SWAT teams responded to the scene. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jarrod Bidlack, ultimately surrendered to the SWAT team and was taken safely into custody without further incident.
Deputies from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office transported Bidlack to the hospital for evaluation before booking him into the Mesa County Detention Facility on his active warrants. Additional charges are pending.
A shelter-in-place was issued out of an abundance of caution while law enforcement contacted Bidlack. The shelter-in-place has since been lifted. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
This is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. The case remains under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
