Grand Junction, CO – On January 6, 2026, the Grand Junction Police Department was requested to assist with the investigation of a possible robbery that occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m., in Mesa County.
Detectives learned that a group of individuals possibly known to the victim reportedly assaulted the victim with a firearm, then fled the area in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation of his injuries.
On January 7, 2026, law enforcement arrested a 17-year-old female and a 17-year-old male for their involvement in this robbery. On January 8, 2026, 18-year-old Shayla Turner and 19-year-old Miracle Carter were arrested in connection with this incident.
Turner and Carter were transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, and the two juveniles were transported to the Department of Youth Services. The four are facing charges of Aggravated Robbery, 2nd Degree Assault, Auto Theft, and Theft.
In accordance with the Colorado Open Records Act, the identities of the juveniles will not be released.
