Year-End Water Efficiency Rebates Now Available!
The City of Grand Junction is offering DOUBLE rebates now through Dec. 31, 2025. All items must be purchased and installed before applying. Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2026.
Water-saving rebate items include: toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, rain barrels, smart irrigation controllers, soil moisture sensors, rain sensors, high-efficiency rotor nozzles, and tree inline drip/drip irrigation conversion components.
Rebate Program Details:
- Rebates are on a first-come, first-served basis
- To qualify, the property must be located within the City of Grand Junction water service area.
- All rebate applications must be submitted within 60 days of purchase, along with proof of installation, such as a photo.
- Rebates will be applied as a credit to water bills unless renter/landlord does not directly pay the city for water. Checks may be requested, and a W-9 is required for checks of more than $600
- Rebates must not exceed the price paid by customers for appliances, fixtures, or components. *Tax, delivery, and labor are not covered by the rebate; only the cost of the item is covered.
- May be combined with other incentive programs if approved by City staff.
Product Qualifications:
All new appliances and items must be EPA WaterSense-approved 2025 products or Energy Star, stating water efficiency.
Item specifications:
- Toilets: One toilet per property or unit, .8-1.28 gallons per flush or 1.2-1.5 for dual flush.
- Washing Machines: Must be EnergyStar, One per property or unit. listed as water efficient models,19 gallons or less per load, varies per top or front load.
- Dishwasher: 3.2 gallons per cycle (GPC) or less.
- Rain barrels: Colorado allows (2) 55-gallon rain barrels per property (one roof), totaling 110 gallons for collection per rain event. Maximum of two per property. Allowed on residential and multifamily with four or fewer units.
- Irrigation Rebates:
- Smart Controllers require attending an irrigation class, water budget, or irrigation assessment performed by the Water Conservation specialist or other qualified irrigation auditors. Limit one per property.
- Rain sensors and/or soil moisture meters require use with a smart controller; you must show proof of the controller. Maximum of two per property.
- High-efficiency (H.E.) rotor nozzles or heads, limit of 25 nozzles/heads per property. The entire irrigation zone must have the same style of nozzles.
- Drip Irrigation components/parts can be used to replace spray or rotor sprinklers with drip irrigation. Inline drip is encouraged where the lawn is being removed around trees.
